Below is a reply that I have posted to your “ Henry Benger and the Le Blonds “ page. It was in response to the email you received from Kim in Australia in January 2010.

I have written to you a few times before. George Louis Le blond ( b. 1837 in Channel Isls.) was my g.grandfather. He was of course one of Amelie Le Blond’s brothers.

I was interested to see this email from Kim in Australia to you in 2010 regarding her relationship to Zepherine Le Blond.

I would be interested in making contact with her here in Australia as she may be able to throw some light on another interesting line of the Australian ” Le Blonds “.

Have you had further correspondence with Kim since this 2010 email? If so, I would be very interested in finding out what she had to offer.Are you able to provide her email address please?

I have recently unearthed some interesting facts regarding the Le Blond family from the Manche area of France. They are almost certainly the forebears of the Channel Island Le Blonds.

Hi Hugh

I am have been following your posts online as I am descended from the Le Blonds of the Channel Islands.

In summary, Edward Le Blond was my third great grandfather and until I came across your posts, I couldn’t find who his mother was. Edward’s daughter Zepherine Alexandrine is my direct line and I am happy to give you any information I have to fill in some gaps. Here is a copy of my great grandmother’s birth certificate showing Zepherine – the marriage certificate is fairly devoid of information. They married in New Zealand on 28 March 1876 (although I can’t find any record of her emigration) and then they came to Australia (I have family reports or similar if you are interested? You probably have all the census records for the Channel Islands?

Anyhow, just thought I would touch base to see if you still doing the family tree.

My Eli Banger was born c1831-1891 in Lillington, I believe to James b
1786 and Bridget b c1806. He was an ag lab and he married Sarah Jane
Hunt b c1843 in Thornford.. One of their 10 children, Bridget, b1870
was my grt grandmother, born in Beer Hackett. Eli’s siblings are
possibly Charlotte and Jonathan, b 1826 and Mary Ann b 1836.

There are several Bangers in this area of Dorset and I’m still trying
to work on their connections.

I have also had info given of a Rev Bernard Banger born at Toller
Porcorum in 1599 who became vicar of Frampton in 1622. He died in 1673
. Another one I’m trying to connect.

Is any of this any use and can you add anything?

Henry Banger was born at Whitefield Lillington about 1837. He appears in the
1841 Census at Whitefield. He was a Silk Winder by 1851 and after that I
know no more. he is almost certainly related to me, but I haven’t identified
his parents. Any interest?

It appears to have been (and still is) a farm. If you log into http://www.old-maps.co.uk and search on co-ordinates 362026,110982 , you will see a Whitfield Farm.
